WASPS Athletics
Our final Wolverhampton competition of the year arrived with a bang. Perfect weather for the occasion and the perfect children to take part! With a variety of events ranging from long-distance races and sprints to the long jump, every event was filled. Year 6’s DT Workshop at Wednesfield Academy
Year 6 had a fantastic morning at Wednesfield Academy, taking part in an exciting DT session. First, Year 6 settled into the DT classroom – which was an experience in itself! The room was filled with new equipment and machinery. The lesson started with a health and safety talk, which included partner discussions. Trust Football Tournament
What an afternoon we have had! Atter a steady start holding both Goldthorn Park, Tipton Green and Elston Hall to a draw - we were feeling positive. Goals were then our focus. In our third game, which against Pheasey Park we began our hunt for goals! Finley rose to the challenge by scoring 2 amazing goals. We had fantastic defending from Jorgie, our wall that no ball could break. Kaleb, who kept his eyes firmly on the last man, ensured our keeper wasn't under too much pressure

Year 5 Visit Wednesfield Academy
Year 5 had a great opportunity to visit Wednesfield Academy and take part in two DT lessons. First, we made rockets and watched them fly across the field. Then we went back into the workshops and raced F1 cars created by a laser cutting machine. The children were so impressed by the equipment and activities they can't wait to go back in a few weeks for an afternoon of PE!

Year 5 and 6 pupils took part in exciting athletics games led by Wednesfield Academy. The activities helped to develop their fitness, coordination, and teamwork skills, while ensuring they had lots of fun.

Team Edwards Takes on the Baton Journey!
Edward the Elder had a wonderful opportunity to take part in the baton journey to celebrate the start of the Commonwealth Games 2026. We had a drone follow our touch bearers gathering all of our Edwards team from Nursery through to Year 6. We all then gathered on KS2 playground where we recreated the Commonwealth logo. A great team showing from Team Edwards yet again!!

Year 5 Raise the Roof at ‘Singing In The Halls'
Year 5 were chosen to be a part of 2,700 pupils who came together to raise the roof of the University of Wolverhampton at The Halls a special concert yesterday morning. 'Singing In The Halls', which was organised by Wolverhampton Music Service, performed at the iconic venue accompanied by a 14-piece band. Year 5 (and the staff) had a wonderful time singing a variety of songs from the 80's all the way up to the present day. The children were singing, chanting and dancing along

Year 3 Drama Workshop
Year 3 had a fantastic opportunity to work with a drama teacher from Wednesfield Academy. The children worked through a variety of drama exercises to make them aware of the space they occupy and how their body language can convey different meanings for different scenarios. A big focus in this session was about being a good audience! How we listen to performers, how we react and how we give feedback when the performance has finished.

Harry Potter Chemistry Lesson
Year 5 had an exciting visit to the Science labs at Wednesfield Academy for their first real secondary‑school science lesson. To start, the children explored the lab, learned about important safety rules, and met a science teacher. They were then sorted into Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw House! Year 3 Local Walk
Year 3 went on a local walk around our school to support their learning in Geography. The children explored the area, observing and discussing the different human and physical features around them. It was a great way to connect what they’ve been learning in class to the world around them, while also helping them develop an awareness of their local environment.

Edwards' Elves!
Before the Christmas break, staff from school joined the Rotary on their annual sleigh ride around the local estate. Together they raised lots of money which will be used to support the local community. A massive thank you to families that popped out to say hello and also for their generous donations!
