Precious Lives – Keeping Safe

Year 5 & 6 had an important session called Precious Lives linking to our keeping safe in the community unit. After listening to the talk they enjoyed role playing different scenarios.

We discussed:

  • How the police help keep people safe and why people can be arrested.

  • The dangers of carrying weapons and the consequences of making unsafe choices.

  • Staying safe on social media and avoiding arguments.

  • Managing disagreements and conflict calmly.

  • What makes a healthy relationship and where to get help if something feels wrong.

  • How a criminal record can affect someone's future.

  • What to do if you see someone with a weapon: run away, tell a trusted adult and call the police.

    
    

  Key message: Make safe choices, stay calm in difficult situations, and always ask a trusted adult for help if you are worried.
