Wider Curriculum Events

We provide many opportunities for children to experience learning outside the classroom, to support and enhance their skills and

understanding through trips and a variety of visitors within school.

We also invite in a range of companies to enhance learning in

school e.g. history theme days.

We also have strong links with local secondary schools who provide

opportunities for our key stage 2 pupils. There are also opportunities for Year 2, Year 4 and Year 6 children to participate in residential trips.

The school places importance on building pupils’ character. Pupils in Year 2 and Year 6 attend annual residential visits to learn in the outdoors. Visits enrich the curriculum. Pupils enjoy a range of opportunities to extebd their cultural awareness.

Dudley Zoo Trip!

Year 2 had a great time visiting Dudley Zoo as an introduction to their Animals including humans unit. They were able to observe a variety of animals they would not normally be able to see in their local area. They saw giraffe's, a tiger, monkey's, snow leopard's, orangutan's and even got up close to some lemurs. The children absolutely loved trying to spot where the animals were hiding in each enclosure. Year 1 Trip to Kingswood Trust Centre

Year 1 visited Kingswood Trust Centre for the day to develop their geographical skills as part of their current Dimensions theme ‘Never Eat Shredded Wheat’. We enjoyed lots of opportunities for map reading and comparing different localities. Y6's Visit to Blists Hill Museum

Year 6 had a WONDERFUL day at Blists Hill Museum where they travelled back to the Victorian era and really got a feel for what life was like back then. They began the day by taking part in an Intaglio Printing workshop, using the printing machine which was many years old! For the rest of the day, they explored the exhibitions and looked at key landmarks at the museum. They asked the demonstrators fantastic questions which helped them understand and compare what life was like

Bonfire Celebrations!

Bonfire celebration day went with off with a bang for EYFS this week. We used our imaginations and senses in the morning and then Reception finished the celebrations by toasting marshmallows on a real fire. We had the best day!
