Wider Curriculum Events
We provide many opportunities for children to experience learning outside the classroom, to support and enhance their skills and
understanding through trips and a variety of visitors within school.
We also invite in a range of companies to enhance learning in
school e.g. history theme days.
We also have strong links with local secondary schools who provide
opportunities for our key stage 2 pupils. There are also opportunities for Year 2, Year 4 and Year 6 children to participate in residential trips.
The school places importance on building pupils’ character. Pupils in Year 2 and Year 6 attend annual residential visits to learn in the outdoors. Visits enrich the curriculum. Pupils enjoy a range of opportunities to extebd their cultural awareness.

Year 3 Wild Tribe
Year 3 have loved taking part in their Wild Tribe sessions this term! We have developed a wide variety of skills such as listening, building a fire, appreciating the outside world and taking time to be still and notice what is around us. A huge thank you to Mrs Roberts for planning and leading this wonderful opportunity…The soggy feet were absolutely worth it!
Year 3’s Visit to Severn Valley Country Park
Year 3 had an amazing time on their recent visit to Severn Valley Country Park in Shropshire! The children spent the day immersed in nature, taking part in an exciting mini beast hunt where they discovered all sorts of fascinating insects and creatures in their natural habitats. They also enjoyed a fun-filled scavenger hunt, working together to find clues and natural items hidden throughout the park. Matilda at Wednesfield Academy
Key Stage 2 had the exciting opportunity to visit the local high school to watch their performance of Matilda . The students enjoyed a morning of theatre, watching the talented cast bring the fantastic story to life on stage. It was a brilliant experience for the children, offering them a chance to appreciate live performances and the hard work involved in putting on a school production. Year 5 Computing Day
Year 5 took part in a fun Computing workshop all about data and spreadsheets. First, we learned what data is and why it’s useful in real jobs like science and engineering. We collected our own data by rolling dice with a partner. Next, we used Google Sheets on the laptops. We learned important words lik e cell, row, column a nd how to find a cell reference . We also explored how to use formulas with symbols like +, –, * and /. We then used a menu to collect item prices and pu
Harry Potter Chemistry Lesson
Year 5 had an exciting visit to the Science labs at Wednesfield Academy for their first real secondary‑school science lesson. To start, the children explored the lab, learned about important safety rules, and met a science teacher. They were then sorted into Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw House! Spotlight Dance Club Shines on Stage
Our Spotlight Dance Club has been running weekly throughout the spring term, and to showcase their learning the children gave a fantastic performance to families and staff. Year 4 Rainforest Adventure
Year 4 had an exciting Rainforest Roadshow, and it felt like we stepped right into the Amazon. We were brave explorers as we held real rainforest creatures, including a tarantula, a praying mantis, and even a millipede. We had the opportunity to wear colourful Amazonian‑style face paint, which made us look like members of a rainforest tribe. Awe and Wonder in Reception!
Reception have been full of excitement this week as we welcomed some very special new visitors into our classroom. Year 2 Jungle Challenge Day!
Year 2 had a fantastic day as explorers and jungle animals as we worked our way through the challenges in I'm a Year 2 Get me out of here!
