Safer Internet Day 2026
To celebrate safer Internet Day 2026 Year 4 joined the BBC live assembly, partaking in tasks alongside this. We then completed an activity all about AI, what is okay and what is not okay when using it. We discussed what AI is and how it can be helpful, but also how it can be harmful. The children were proud to show off their designs of their very own AI 'ChatBot'!

Year One ‘Little Makers Outreach’ Visit
Year One had a fantastic morning working with our ‘Little Makers’ visitors from the Black Country Living Museum. We thought about all of the structures and buildings we saw at the museum and then worked together to build our very own structures. We learned all about strong materials and how to make secure fixings. We used some bellows to test whether our houses were strong or not.

Spring Term PE Update!
During the Spring term the children have been enjoying the new units for the year. Reception have been developing new games through dance and working well with one another in their Word Moves Dance unit. We’ve created games focusing on key words including – over, under, fast, slow, above and below. Year 1 and 2 have been in enjoying developing their physical skills such as agility jumping and speed. Visit from the Firefighters!
Year One were very lucky to meet some of the firefighters from Fallings Park. They showed us around their fire engine, and we even had the chance to sit in the firefighters’ seats! They also demonstrated some of the tools they use when fighting fires and rescuing people. In class, we learned about the important role firefighters play within our community and the special protective clothing they wear to keep themselves safe.

Year One visit to ‘The Black Country Living Museum’
Year One had a fantastic day visiting ‘The Black Country Living Museum!’ We learned all about the materials used to build different types of houses and shops and were excited to watch bricks and chains being made. We even had a chance to build our own walls and houses using lots of construction materials!

Online Safety Session
Both parents and children from Year 5 and 6 were invited to an online safety session with Patrick Flynn yesterday which was tailored to our school specifically, based on the results from the survey that the children took part in. Thank you to parents for attending the session as we know how informative this was and how it will help you to keep our children safe online.

World War Presentations
For Year 6's current topic, 'Wars of the World' they have been looking at both World War One and World War Two. In small groups they chose one of the wars to research into further, focusing on a specific area such as: women's roles during the war, evacuation, weaponry, rationing etc. Their presentations were very informative and they did a fantastic job using the software sway to make them look professional. Well done Year 6!

Year One Local Area Walk – Moathouse Estate
Year One enjoyed a walk around the local area of Moathouse Estate. Using a map to follow their route, the children identified a range of human and physical features along the way. They explored different signs, street names, and landmarks, developing their understanding of how maps connect to real places. It was a great opportunity for the children to practise their geographical skills and learn more about their community.

Land Ahoyyy!
As part of year 2's new theme 'Land Ahoy', they took part in an inspiration day. We started the day designing an eye patch and finding out our Pirate names. The children practised these and shared with the class using a pirate voice. They designed and followed instructions to make a pirate hat. They then had the chance to investigate ships and boats before working as a team to design and create their own boat. They then launched it to see if it could float - all designs were

Crossing Patrol in Year 2
Ros from Wolverhampton Crossing Patrol came into school to visit year 2. She showed us her uniform and explained the importance of it in keeping herself and us safe. She also explained the importance of her lollipop stick to stop the traffic. We recapped our previous learning about the Green Cross Code and practised crossing the road safely with a trusted adult. We then sang a song about how to cross the road safely which they remembered really well from year 1. Stop! Look!

Dance Club
What a fantastic turn out for our first afterschool Dance club sessions. All the children, ranging from Reception all the way through to Year 6, have enjoyed expressing themselves through dance and beginning to learn a routine to the infectious song 'Golden'. The club is being run by Spotlight Dance Company who have already been impressed with the enthusiasm and confidence of the children so far. The Highwayman
Year 5 have launched into our new English unit with real excitement as we explore the classic poem The Highwayman by Alfred Noyes. We kicked things off by investigating a mysterious classroom “crime scene” and making predictions about what might have happened. The children have performed powerful lines of the poem aloud, created freeze‑frames to bring key moments to life, and begun digging into rich vocabulary to unlock the poem’s deeper meaning. Year One School Crossing Patrol
Year One have enjoyed learning all about how to cross the road safely. Ros, the ‘School Crossing Patrol’ lady, taught use how to STOP, LOOK and LISTEN and how to find a safe place to cross. We learned through fun role play and she even taught us a song to help us to remember exactly how to stay safe when we are crossing the street! What a fun morning full of learning!
