The Highwayman
Year 5 have launched into our new English unit with real excitement as we explore the classic poem The Highwayman by Alfred Noyes. We kicked things off by investigating a mysterious classroom “crime scene” and making predictions about what might have happened. The children have performed powerful lines of the poem aloud, created freeze‑frames to bring key moments to life, and begun digging into rich vocabulary to unlock the poem’s deeper meaning. A great start Year 5!
