Fossils, Rocks and Fantastic Discoveries!
Our Year 6 scientists stepped back in time this week as they explored the fascinating world of fossils and rock layers! The children investigated how fossils are formed and discovered how they can be found hidden within different layers of rock. They learned that these layers build up over millions of years, with each one holding clues about life on Earth long ago. SATs Complete — Well Done, Year 6!
A huge well done to our Year 6 children for completing their SATs this week! We are incredibly proud of the determination, resilience and positive attitude they showed throughout the tests. The children approached each day with confidence and worked extremely hard — they should all be very proud of themselves. Year 6 Explores the Heart Through Dissection
Year 6 had an afternoon of exploring a heart. They observed what it looked like to begin with before getting their hands on it and dissecting it! By dissecting it, this helped them to observe the different components and then they discussed the features of these using fantastic scientific vocabulary. Well done Year 6!

Cross Country Champions in Action!
A fantastic team effort from our Cross Countey team who took part in a long distance race at Rakegate primary school. The boys ran first, with Finley (Year 6) and Callum (Year 4) leading the way, followed closely by Ryley and Tomiwa (both Year 6) a fantastic team and supportive team run! Online Safety Session
Both parents and children from Year 5 and 6 were invited to an online safety session with Patrick Flynn yesterday which was tailored to our school specifically, based on the results from the survey that the children took part in. World War Presentations
For Year 6's current topic, 'Wars of the World' they have been looking at both World War One and World War Two. In small groups they chose one of the wars to research into further, focusing on a specific area such as: women's roles during the war, evacuation, weaponry, rationing etc. Their presentations were very informative and they did a fantastic job using the software sway to make them look professional. Christmas Jumper Day
What a fantastic Christmas Jumper Day Year 6 had! They began their morning, celebrating with their families, drinking hot chocolate and enjoying board games! Y6's Visit to Blists Hill Museum
Year 6 had a WONDERFUL day at Blists Hill Museum where they travelled back to the Victorian era and really got a feel for what life was like back then. They began the day by taking part in an Intaglio Printing workshop, using the printing machine which was many years old! For the rest of the day, they explored the exhibitions and looked at key landmarks at the museum. Children in Need Celebrations
Year 6 have had an absolutely amazing day, celebrating Children in Need and raising money for a FANTASTIC charity! They took part in a 25 minute scavenger hunt, where they had to find hidden Pudsey bears around school! Miss Louca had a list of clues which were given 1 by 1 to each group and they worked together as a team to hunt them around school. The children had so much fun doing this and what a great way for them to raise money! Well done Year 6!

Anti-Bullying Week 2025 'Power For Good!'
All children across school took part in anti-bullying week and we kicked-started the week with everyone wearing Odd Socks to show how we are all individual and unique! This years theme was 'Power For Good' which was introduced in assembly to all children on 'Odd Socks Day'.
