Year One ‘Little Makers Outreach’ Visit
Year One had a fantastic morning working with our ‘Little Makers’ visitors from the Black Country Living Museum. We thought about all of the structures and buildings we saw at the museum and then worked together to build our very own structures. We learned all about strong materials and how to make secure fixings. We used some bellows to test whether our houses were strong or not.

They also demonstrated some of the tools they use when fighting fires and rescuing people. They explored different signs, street names, and landmarks, developing their understanding of how maps connect to real places. It was a great opportunity for the children to practise their geographical skills and learn more about their community.
