Year 1 Trip to Kingswood Trust Centre

Year 1 visited Kingswood Trust Centre for the day to develop their geographical skills as part of their current Dimensions theme ‘Never Eat Shredded Wheat’.

We enjoyed lots of opportunities for map reading and comparing different localities. We completed a ‘peg orienteering’ challenge around the grounds and followed a map through the forest to find our way along an ‘Owl Trail’. We collected natural materials as we walked through the woods and explored the fantastic outdoor musical instruments we found there.

We had so much fun creating our own maps of the centre right on the forest floor – we used as many natural resources as we could find!

What a wonderful day packed full of super learning!
