Designing Delicious Shortbread

As part of their Design and Technology learning Year 3 children explored the origins of shortbread and learned about its history and cultural significance. They then had the opportunity to become shortbread designers, using a given set of criteria to create their own unique ideas.
Before baking, the children were reminded about the importance of good food hygiene, including handwashing and safe food handling practices. They carefully followed a recipe, developing their measuring, mixing, and teamwork skills.
