Our Year 3 class had a fantastic experience during their visit from the Science Dome. For an hour, the children were immersed in an exciting, interactive session all about light and sound. As soon as they stepped inside the inflatable dome, the darkened space and curved screen created a sense of wonder and excitement.
The presenter was knowledgeable, engaging and brilliant at explaining tricky ideas in a way the children could easily understand. He demonstrated how light travels in straight lines, how shadows are formed and why we see different colours. The children loved seeing beams of light move across the dome and noticing how objects blocked or reflected them.
Overall, the session was engaging, informative and inspiring. The children thoroughly enjoyed the visit and left buzzing with new knowledge and curiosity about light.
