Year 3 'Come Fly With Me: Africa!'

The children had a fantastic day as we began our new topic, "Come Fly With Me: Africa." They showed excellent rhythm skills while playing the djembe drums and enthusiastically took part in a range of call and response games. They learned to recognise the main features of instruments used in African music and worked collaboratively to perform as a group.The children also enjoyed learning some African dance moves, performing together with confidence and enthusiasm.
As well as exploring African music and culture, the children developed their geography skills by locating Africa and some of its largest countries on a map.
It was a wonderful start to our new topic, and the children demonstrated fantastic listening, teamwork and musical skills throughout the day.
