The second league mixed football game took place at the end of our first half term. The children were very excited the play this second fixture, with some fresh faces taking to the pitch the game was set. Long Knowle arrived with an Entourage of supporters, but our support base didn't let us down and arrived in full force. We had parents and carers, current pupils, previous pupils and staff all out to show their support - this was just wonderful to see!
We started the match on the back foot with an impressive goal creeping into our net. Regardless of this, we stayed strong as a team and showing our resilience by keeping our heads up and focused on the game plan. Tyler-Jai (Year 3) then took his chance and scored levelling the score up for us. This was followed in quick succession with a fantastic goal from Finley (Year 6). Celebrations from both boys were rather muted - we will work on this for the next game - But the excitement of taking the lead shone throughout the whole team! Unfortunately, Long Knowle scored another goal taking the game to a tie at 2-2. Despite our best efforts during the rest of the game, and with a super defence led by Toby (Year 5), Kaleb (Year 5) and Jorgie (Year 6) in goal the score remained 2-2.
Well done all involved and we can't wait for the next league game!
Thanks,
Mrs Harper & Mr Smith
