I really enjoy learning about different artists particulary Jack Kirby and the marvel comics. I love to use my imagination and I feel calm when i am sketching. My sketching and shading techniques have really improved. Archie Year 6

Pupil Voice

I enjoy expressing myself in are lessons. It was fun colour mixing when painting the planets. My favourite artist is definitely Van Gogh.

I really enjoyed using different sized paintbrushes and practising using differnt sorts of brush strokes. Colour pop lessons were lots of fun.

Year 1

Year 1 have enjoyed exploring and working with clay. They followed their designs to make a clay pot, and lid, to store Cinderella's jewellery.

Year 2

Year 2 are learning how to create a profile portrait.

Year 3

Children have learnt about different artists who used forest scapes as their subject. They will create rubbings and make a collage from objects they have collected, before making observational drawings and developing and realising their own rainforest painting.

Year 5

Children learnt about colour wheels, including tints, tones, shades and hues. They created an image of a planet selecting appropriate colours, using blending and mixing.

Year 6

Art at Home

Art is a wonderful way for children to be creative, develop their imagination and express their ideas. There are lots of ways you can encourage your child to enjoy art at home. Art isn't about creating a perfect picture. Encourage your child to experiment, try new ideas and enjoy being creative!

Draw or sketch things around you, such as a favourite toy, pet or plant.
Experiment with different paints, colours and materials.
Make a collage using old magazines, newspapers, wrapping paper or cardboard.
Design and make a model using recycled materials.
Collect natural materials such as leaves, twigs and stones and use them to create artwork.
Look at a famous artist's work together and talk about what you like about it.
Take photographs of interesting colours, shapes, patterns and textures.
Visit a local art gallery or museum and talk about the artwork you see.
